Opticells Microscopes

Opticells is a brand of industrial microscopes.

Dedicated to the flexographic printing sector, Opticells microscopes are used to measure the B.C.M. (Billion-Cubic-Micron) of the Anilox rollers, as well as the condition of the intercell fatigue.

Linearations between 200 and 1600 cells per inch.

Opticells microscopes are used to check the mechanical condition of Anilox rollers:

  • Volume (B.C.M.);

  • Linearity (number of cells per inch);

  • Opening of cells;

  • Depth;

  • State of the intercell walls.


These are measuring devices using microscopy associated with several types of lighting, in different wavelengths to highlight microscopic geometries and, thus, make measurements in Micro-Metrology.

Opticells microscopes apply and work with all manufacturers of Anilox flexography rollers.

The microscopes are equipped with three visible spectrum light sources, allowing three redundant measurements to verify accuracy in three different ways.

The types of cells that can be measured are:

  • Hexagonal;

  • Elongated hexagonal;

  • G.T.T. (sinusoidal);

  • Helical;

  • Other geometries on request.

Version 1 of the Opticells microscope allows:

Version 2

A microscope which allows to determine, in an extremely precise way, the morphology of the cells engraved on the Anilox cylinders:

  • 1 interchangeable 10X objective (5X-20X-40X) associated with a Michelson interferometer (wide coherence band).


Recommended for Anilox roller manufacturers.


In addition to version 1, it has a Fabry-Perot interferometer, allowing the following functions on Anilox rollers:

  • Profilometry;

  • Roughness measurement;

  • Dimensions;

  • Surface states.


This type of microscope has been specifically developed to inspect without contact or chemicals (capatch, ) Anilox rollers from manufacturers.
